A disabled person may qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a monthly cash benefit program managed by the Social Security Administration.  Only individuals who have a disability, meet medical criteria, and can document financial need may qualify for benefits under this program.   Recipients of this program are also automatically eligible for Medi-Cal.  To apply for SSI, please call or visit your local Social Security Office.  You may also be able to apply online through www.ssa.gov.
