TOPSoccer League Forming in Santa Maria
TOPSoccer program (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is HERE! The Orcutt United Soccer League (OUSL) in association with California Youth Soccer Association-South (CYSA-S) will be beginning a new program designed to promote soccer for athletes with physical and/or mental disabilities that areotherwise unable to participate in recreational soccer.
The TOPSoccer program is open to any player with any disability, ages 4 and up. There are no requirements to be met and no player is ever turned away. The community involvement with the TOPSoccer program will create a better understanding between the non-disabled and disabled community. We also need volunteers that can assists to develop this program, and help with athletes at the workshops. Teams for ALL levels of play: Coach-pitch; Tee-ball, and Skill Drill teams available. Adaptive equipment used for each players needs (soft balls, bean bags, whiffle balls, squishy balls, etc). “Typical” Little League teams volunteer as BIG buddies for Challenger players each week, along with parents and community volunteers.
Dos Pueblos Little League hosts Challenger teams for ALL of Santa Barbara County, from Carpenteria north to Santa Maria, Saturday mornings, March 1st – June 7th, on the ball fields of Girsh Park (behind Costco), in Goleta.

FRIENDS-Support Inc. presents a very special event: an exclusive Down Syndrome awareness cruise on board Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines’ “Sovereign of the Seas.”
This is a one of a kind adventure. The 3-night Bahamian cruise will depart Port Canaveral, FL on October 17, 2008. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for families from across America to come together and bring awareness to one of the most frequently occurring chromosomal deviations, as well as promote inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome.
