Family Resource Centers provide support for families who have learned about the diagnosis of a child, need information, seek social opportunities or want a positive learning environment.

Ventura County

Rainbow Connection, a Family Resource Center in Ventura County, is a place for persons served and their family members to meet and find support, information and training. Rainbow is staffed by parents of children and adults with special needs. We understand the daily challenges of parenting a child or adult with special needs. Whether you are just starting your journey with a baby in the hospital or you are a family member looking at aging issues for someone with special needs, we are here to help you. We are great listeners and can assist families with problem solving.

Rainbow staff (all parents of children or adults with special needs) draw from their own experiences and are dedicated to building sensitivity, knowledge and understanding between individuals, families, professionals, and the community. Rainbow values and supports every community member and offers support, information and education to all members of the community.

Library A large lending library of books, videos, audiotapes, computer programs, games, and toys is available at the Tri-Counties Regional Center office in Oxnard. A satellite library is available in the Simi Valley Tri-Counties Regional Center office. Internet access is available at both sites. A mobile library is available for group meetings. It is open to the public.
