Due to increased need during the COVID public health crisis, all CalFresh benefits will be increased by 15% from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021. Additionally, the minimum allotment for households of one or two members will increase from $16 to $19.
CalFresh households will receive supplements for January and February in early February 2021 as a result of the increase. For March forward, the increase will be included in the regular allotment.
The increases are a result of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.
This table shows the COVID-19 temporary maximum allotment by household size:

Households already receiving the maximum allotment are not eligible to receive an emergency allotment. Emergency Allotments have been approved on a month to month basis by Food & Nutrition Service (FNS).
