Free Emergency Go-Kits – Now with Expanded Eligibility!
We still have about 400 go-kits left to give out. DDS has expanded eligibility, allowing more people to receive one. You may now qualify if you live with a parent, relative, or legal guardian! (Before, only those living independently or with support could get one.) Please note that these kits contain content suitable for teens and adults. While young children can use some of the contents, they do not include child-sized items.
We can only provide one kit per person actively served by TCRC, and priority will be given to those who have been evacuated due to a fire, flood, or other disaster. Below are the eligibility criteria:
- Actively served by TCRC
- Residence Type: Independent or Supported
Living, or living with a Parent/Relative/Legal
Guardian - Live near or in an area facing natural hazards (most will qualify)
- Previously evacuated (automatic qualification)
- Training which can be provided in different forms
The remaining kits will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. If you haven’t received one yet, please check the flyer at the end of this post to complete the required training, or click here for the link. Please check with your Service Coordinator before completing any training to ensure that kits are still available. If they are, our Emergency Response Coordinator will add your name to the list to reserve your kit.
If you’d rather review the training with your service coordinator, just let them know you’re interested. They will contact the TCRC Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) to help you get a kit.
