TCRC Executive Director Omar Noorzad

Executive Director Omar Noorzad to Retire this December

To all of the TCRC staffers, vendors, people served and their families, we the Board of Directors wanted to advise you that after 25 years of exceptional leadership, our executive Director, Dr. Omar Noorzad has advised us that he will be retiring in December of 2026.  To say that Omar will be missed is a true understatement. His tenure here has made TCRC one of the most well run, Person Centered and effective Regional Centers in our State. We are fortunate that Omar has provided us with significant notice of his intentions, and the Board has begun the process of seeking a new Executive Director to take the reins of TCRC beginning January 2027.

Though TCRC has not had to go through the recruitment process in a quarter of a century, many of the other 20 Regional Centers have, and rest assured that our Board will be seeking advice on best practices from several of the other Boards, from the Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA) and from Kinetic Flow, a consultancy firm we have engaged to help us with this transition. The primary message we want to convey at this time to everyone is that the continued delivery of exceptional support to the more than 20,000 people served by Tri-Counties, as well as the highest level of comfort for our thousands of employees, vendors, and direct service providers supporting TCRC, is what is most important to us.

The recruitment process will be wide-ranging, open to input about matters that are important to stakeholders, as transparent and as fair as possible.  Whether we find the new Executive Director from near or far, we hope you know that as a Board, this is the single most important business decision we will ever make. We take it seriously and we are dedicating the remainder of the year to finding the right person to guide TCRC through many years to come.
